Reviewing for FSI: What’s in it for you?
If you’re reading this, you probably already know that peer review is the glue that holds our scientific community together. But let's be honest: we all know how much time it takes, and sometimes it feels like a one-way street.
We want to change that. We don't just want your time; we want to build a partnership that actually gives back to you.
We are a Diamond Open Access journal—meaning no fees for authors and no fees for readers—and that only works because of experts like you.
To show our appreciation, we’ve put together a program that I think you’ll find genuinely useful for your career.
Why join our team?
We’ve moved past simple "thank you" emails. Here’s how we actually reward your hard work:
Professional Recognition: You can record this contribution on Clarivate (formerly Publons) and Reviewer Credits using the links provided in your reviewer dashboard.
Reviewer Certificate: Your formal certificate is available for immediate download from the platform. In addition, you will receive a €10 coupon. This coupon is valid for two years. Coupons are cumulative but can be used for only one event.
Elite Reviewer Recognition (7-Day Deadline): If you have successfully submitted your report in less than 7 days, you have officially unlocked our Elite Reviewer incentives:
a) Annual Reviewers Hall of Fame: You have been entered into the selection pool for our annual recognition of the Top 10 reviewers of the year.
b) Premium Status (Fast-Track): You have earned 'Premium Status' for a duration of one year from today. When submitting a new manuscript as the corresponding author, you will be entitled to a preferential fast-track through the initial editorial screening and the peer-review process.
We value the human touch
In a world full of AI, we’re sticking to our guns. We have a strict No-AI policy for reviews. We want your expertise, your intuition, and your experience. We don’t allow manuscripts to be fed into AI tools because we respect the authors’ intellectual property—and we respect your unique human judgment.
It’s easy to get started
If you’re not already on our list, just log in to our platform, update your profile, and tell us your specific "Reviewing interests" (like Fatigue, Composites, or Damage mechanics). In addition, fill out this FORM. We’ll only send you stuff that actually fits your expertise.
We’re more than just a journal; we’re a community. We’re the Italian Group of Fracture, and we’d love to have you as a vital part of our mission. Let’s work together to make structural integrity research faster, better, and more open for everyone.
Looking forward to working with you,
